Michelle Obama has admitted that she “couldn’t stand” her husband Barack for a decade, and now he’s firing back.
The former First Lady Michelle Obama shocked everyone back in December when she admitted that she “couldn’t stand” her husband Barack Obama for ten years during their marriage. Now, Barack is responding to this statement by giving his thoughts on it.
“For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts.” – President Barack Obama

Barack Responds To Michelle’s Comments
When asked by CBS News how he’s managed to win Michelle back over, Barack replied by saying that “it sure helps to be out of the White House.”
Barack, 61, went on to say that having “a little more time” to spend with Michelle, 59, has done wonders for their marriage.
“What also helps though, about children… Michelle, when our girls were growing up, that was priority number one, two, three and four,” Barack explained. “And so, I did not fully appreciate, I think, as engaged of a father I was, the degree of stress and tension for her knowing that not just me and Michelle were under scrutiny and in this strange environment, but that we were raising our daughters in a kind of situation that just wasn’t normal.”
“Now that they’re doing good, she’s a little more forgiving of my flaws,” he continued. “What she’s told me is, ‘Looking back, you did OK as a dad.’ And if I passed that test, then she’ll forgive me most of my other foibles.”

Michelle Admits She ‘Couldn’t Stand’ Barack
This came after Michelle opened up about her marriage like never before during a panel for Revolt TV back in December.
“People think I’m being catty by saying this — it’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband. And guess when it happened? When those kids were little,” Michelle recalled. “We’re trying to build our careers and, you know, worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t even.’ And guess what? Marriage isn’t 50/50, ever, ever.”
“There are times I’m 70, he’s 30. There are times he’s 60, 40, but guess what? Ten years — we’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad years over 30 — it’s just how you look at it,” she added. “And people give up . . . ‘Five years; I can’t take it.’”
Michelle went on lament that young people give up on their relationships far too quickly these days.
“I think it’s important for us to be honest in those conversations not to glamorize what a partnership feels like because then young people quit too soon,” she said. “They quit before they’ve really played out the full scenario.”
“There were 10 years I couldn’t stand my husband (Barack)…we’ve been married 10” 🙌🏾✨

Michelle’s Other Comments
Barack and Michelle met at a law firm in Chicago, Illinois back in 1989, and they have been married since 1992. They also share two adult daughters: Malia, 24, and Sasha, 21.
“Do you like him?” Michelle said of Barack in another December interview. “I mean, you could be mad at him, but do you still look at him and go, ‘I’m not happy with you, but I respect you. I don’t agree with you, but you’re still a kind, smart person.’”
Ten years is quite a long time to dislike your spouse, so it does not seem like this marriage is as strong as the Obamas would have us believe. Only time will tell if their marriage is actually able to stand the test of time, but after what Michelle had to say, we wouldn’t be surprised if they split!
